Time in Inimoa
The current year is:
2036
When my friend and I were at the height of our productivity and interest in this project, time in Inimoa correlated with time in the real world. This was called Inimoan Standard Time (IST). Each week was equal to one year on Inimoa. Each Inimoan year was divided into seven months, beginning on Monday and ending on Sunday:
- Monomun
- Tweeia
- Wendira
- Throen
- Frenoe
- Reston
- Trenmon
Since they were decided upon prior to the creation of in-world languages, the names of each month do not have meanings, except for the final two. The idea was that people on Inimoa
rested during Reston and
trained during Trenmon.
In most Inimoan languages, one Inimoan day is referred to as an izir. One izir is equal to one hour in the real world, and there are 24 izirs in each month.
Around February 20th, 2022, (2027 IST) my friend and I stopped paying much attention to this project because of real life factors. As such, Inimoan Standart Time was made obsolete. These days, if I make any new contributions or updates to the Minecraft world, I determine whether or not to advance time and by how much depending on the in-world context.
Inimoan Standard Time was first used to organize in-world events on June 6th, 2021 (1991 IST). The first builds were made around December 27th, 2020 (1968 IST). While it may not make sense to have the history of the world begin in 1968, I choose to say that all
events prior to 1968 were before modern Inimoan civilization and were thus undocumented. It's a stupid excuse for an explanation, but this is something my friend and I even struggled with explaining before we lost interest.
